superjim Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC3200 Dual Channel Gold Series BH5 I have 2 sticks of this and have great stability at 250mhz. I am looking into adding another 2 sticks, will I get similar o/c's and am I likely to run into probs with stability etc? Thanks in advance
century child Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 You might want to ask this in the OCZ forums or PM one of the reps. I'm sure they will be able to give you a very informative answer based on experience, as to what you can expect out of a 4 stick setup with your config. TheFlowerKing Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 You should be able to run 4x512 no problems. I have 4x512 sticks of Twinmos BH-5 that runs at 245mhz 2-2-2-5. Running 4x512 will hit your mem controller though, so it will lower the max ram clock a tad. Ie. I have 4x512 tccd and it all does 300+ in 2x512, yet at 4x512 the max I can get stable so far is 250mhz, I think it's just around the limit for 4x512 on my memory controller. thegnode Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I think the only thing to consider might be heat. It is possible that you would want a little ram fan depending on how much you are overclocking them. You will basically be doubling the heat generated in that area, and that can more than double the heat that stays there if you have insufficient airflow and you cause a buildup. superjim Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 My real concern was given the compatibilty issues this board has with some RAM types, it may not like 2gb using 4 modules. Heat is not a problem for me
TheFlowerKing Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I can't speak for compatability of your ram, but I can't really foresee an issue, my board will take 4x512 with various ram types with no problem.

red930 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 My memory controller doesn't like 4 sticks much at all.
