bmueller Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I flashed to 6/23-3 bios from start, and created my raid0 array. I used RGones optimized bios settings to begin with, but set 230FSB 10X multi, and RAM at 2.5-3-3-7 2.9v. I'm running Memtest and it appears stable. (Do I need to wait 8 hours before I move on?) My question is, where do I go from here? Should I just install my slipstreamed XP SP2 disc and run prime, etc.? Do I want to tighten RAM timings or up the FSB or multi any more before I do that? Who has a similar setup that can give me good bios settings to strive for?
medianOCer Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I don't have a similar setup to yours, but it sounds like you have some idea as to what you are doing..? Many don't recommend installing critical OS software, apps and so on while OCed. So I'd install those from an error free (memtested thoroughly) stock setting environment, then boot into your OS and go from there. Maybe others will chime in who have experience with and recommendations for your setup.
bmueller Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Yep I'm going to install software first. I want to know what bios settings have worked well for people with the same setup.
medianOCer Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Do you mean 'stock' settings for installation?
Pastuch Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 If you know what your doing with windows you can OC all you want with your apps installed. I use over 50 different programs in Windows and I havnt reformatted in nearly 2 years. I've changed motherboards on this OS install and its still totally stable. Keep it clean!
