Hi Guys i been tring to compare the diffrence between all the nf4 boards and on the dfi offical web site, it seems like it list all the same options for all the boards. There are 5 in the lanparty series.

1.UT NF4 Sli-D

2. UT NF4 Sli-DR

3.UT NF4 Ultra D

4.UT NF4-D

5.NF4 Sli-DR

Can anyone please explane the diffrence between them?

I know you can run 2 v-cards in the sli version but what can you use the other pci express slots for?You have a few diffrent sizes.

Google is just showing up what diffrent size slots but not what you can run in them.

Thanks Ahead.

The boards are based on three different chipsets from Nvidia. They are the NF4, NF4 Ultra, and NF4 SLI. The major differences between the boards are based on differences between the chipsets. The plain NF4 has only SATA 1 ports, the Ultra has SATA 2 ports, and SLI adds the ability to run two graphics cards together. The UT designation in the model name means is has a reduced bundle in the box. It doesn't contain the carry strap, front-x module, and a few other bonus items. The R (as in -DR) means the board has an additional silicon image drive controller adding another 4 SATA 1 ports to bring the total to eight. All the boards have two video card slots, the SLi version allows you to run two nvidia graphics cards together at once. In the other versions the two slots allow you to run two graphics cards to power multiple monitors but their outputs are not combined in games and such. There are also means to mod the cheaper chipsets into the more advanced ones, check the sticky here about it if you are interested. I hope this helps a bit,

Thats helps a lot.One question you said that the plan nf4 only has sata 1 ports meaning you can run only sata 1 drives?

The reason why i ask is i thought all nf4 boards support sata 11 drives?

Thanks.

update

Ok now reading the specks more closely i see that the NF4D only supports sata 1 drives.

Thanks.

You can use SATA II drives you simply can not run them at the full SATAII speed though you can mod the chipset see the mod section. You can look in the Raid benchmark to get an idea of the difference in real speed or just google.

Actually, it's only one chipset with three levels of features.

The nF4 SLI has all the features turned on.

The nF4 Ultra has SLI turned off.

The nF4 D has SATA 3.0Gbps and SLI turned off. The SATA ports only support 1.5Gbps speed but all of the other features of SATA II

You can mod the Ultra and D to full SATA II with 3.0Gbps and SLI.

Iam doing a little more research on these boards and ExRoadie has me a little confused.

He states that NF4 D has sata 3.0,then it says the sata ports only support 1.5.How can it have sata 3.0 but only support 1.5?

Iam doing a little more research befour i buy and a little confused.ExRoadie states the NF4-D has sata 3.0 right, but then adds the sata ports only support sata 1.5.This does not make sence. How can it have sata 3.0 but only support 1.5?

3.0 is sata 11 & 1.5 is sata 1,its saying it has sata 3.0 but only supports 1.5.

This shows the D has sata 1.5 & the ultra-D has 3.0 sata 11

I know that.Hes saying the D has sata 3.0 which is sata 11,if it does why does it have to be modded?

This is from his reply:

The nF4 D has SATA 3.0Gbps and SLI turned off. The SATA ports only support 1.5Gbps speed but all of the other features of SATA II

How can it have 3.0 but only support 1.5?Thats what hes saying.
