  1. Its a complete joke how can DFI treat us like this. I have had this problem for 12 months now and yes i have tried everything i still get the infamous hanging, freezing problems. After a while (5/6months of trying) you just give up, and accept this issue can't be sorted (well i did). I did have minor successes i found installing Vista helped, the hanging is not as constant anymore, the freezes are only bad at Windows start up and i occasionally get them when opening programs, or a lot of activity going on etc...But i do find it appalling that a "supposedly" high quality manufacturer such as DFI could give up on this problem and us people who purchased this expensive board with absolutely no solution, i have seen no effort made by them. Why did they even go with a Nvidia Uli on a Ati chipset board? Anyways rant almost over  I am building a new rig next week and all i can say is i will never ever buy another DFI product again. Hopefully one day DFI will go bust or something severe happens and if this scenario does pan out, i for one will just laugh. I am probably going over the top with the last comment but i just feel let down, the board cost me a lot of money, £175 to be exact, and i couldn't afford a new board so i have been stuck with this, until now. Does anyone else fill them same as me here?
  2. Its weird because my OCZ 2gb 3200 ram is in slot 1 & 3, the yellow slots and i've had it like that since July last year. I've not really had any problems apart from when windows starts up it used to freeze for 10/15 seconds after which it is fine. My ram is at 5/6 333mhz @ 2.3.2.5 as i am overclocked my 3700 san deigo to fsb 260 = 2.860ghz. I might change them to the Orange slots if it gives me better clocks. Its annoying cos one person says use the orange slots then the other says no its the yellow slots.
  3. I built my pc back in April and i had no problems until about 3 weeks ago when i shut down the pc as you normally do, about 10 minutes later just as i was nodding off to sleep the bloody thing started up, now my machines is one noisy f+cker and has a blue strobe light inside the casing so u can imagine the fright i got. Anyways i had a look at the bios settings and i cannot see anything in their that would have caused it, i can't work out what it is causing my pc to start up. Its been happening every night for the past 3 weeks, i now switch the pc of at the psu, where as i used to just let it shut down leaving the psu switch on. Anyone have any ideas what it could be, how i can sort it? 4. Macbeth your not the only one having problems installing windows then. I got exactly the same error last week and many more different ones. I just couldn't install windows xp i got your error and many more. I think its down to the ram, i brought OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 and the new dfi board just two weeks ago. I tried everything, flashing the bios, installing xp with just one hard drive, different bios settings. Nothing worked windows kept crashing in the installation. Its nothing to do with ati crossfire cards as i only have one sapphire 1900xtx card and i am having the same issue as other people. Now thats 4/5 people i have noticed with the same problem on this board and it all seems to be RAM related, something is not right. Also i cannot get my ram on cas 2 it will only work on 2.5, i am coming to the conclusion that there is something wrong with certain boards/ram issue that dfi need to address i.e. a new bios update or something. Anyways i am using a cheap ram stick 256mb at the mo on this board i installed windows eventually still with its problems but for now until i have time to try again i will stick with this set-up.
  5. mate do you have msn or any other messanger. Sent u a private msg anyways. Aaron
  6. Hey mack mate thats one thing i did notice my ram is: OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 (CL 2-3-2-5) Latancy: 2-3-2-5 The settings were on auto for all the settings when i set them too: 2-3-2-5 @ 1T and done memtest 86 i got 202 errors on test 5. When i changed them back to auto they were at 2.5-3-2-5 @ 1t, no errors in memtest86. The speed is 200mhz. I have the Memory sticks in DDR slot 2 and DDR slot 4. The PC would start up with the ram sticks in ddr1 and ddr 3 slot. Debug Screen Error C1, constand beep. CPU is at default i havn't touched the settings yet.

  8. Hello Peeps i recently brought loads of pc hardware and decided to build a PC for myself, i have built pcs 5/6 times before but this time iam having big trouble installing the most basic of things, windows xp. Once everything (Hardware) was but in place and set up i set the bios as you do. I then put in the windows xp disc which i have used many of times of different machines, drives etc...its installed no problem. But on this newly build pc everytime it is installing windows xp i get the fatel blue error screen. They very at any stage of the installation today it had 13 minutes left before it was installed, then the blue screen come up, once it just froze. Sometimes its just after it format the harddrive at the beginning stage of the installation. I cannot work it out i have change bios settings, reset the whole bios used different disc drives, even my mates windows xp copy. Still this blue screen error's. Even tested the memory in memtest86. I am seriously getting hacked off now, i hope someone can help would be much appreciated.
