I had a HR-03 cooler, the fan mounts directly into the fins with clips. The clips started to actually pull the fins of the heatsink off the heatpipes, personally I would not reccomend but you may have better luck.

I was going to save for the r600 because it HAD to be faster coming out many months after the 8800gtx. Luckily I decided to get the 8800gtx o/c'd. I'm not any companies fanboy but I have had more success with nvidia as far as performance goes. I love AMD's cpu's but they really dropped the ball on this one. Even equivalent performance to the 8800gtx would have been disappointing, but worse? Come on AMD

11.97v on the 12v rail if ur not doing anything really strenuous on the computer seems a bit low maybe

Ya, I was very sceptical when they thought maybe my PSU was not up to spec, I chose this PSU specially for this card after readings lots of reviews as well as its recommendation here. The card has been rather quirky from the get go and I have no reason whatsoever to think that the PSU is broken. Just to add: At stock the 8800GTX ran easily 3dmark06 for 8 hours without a hitch on my computer.

I was wondering this question awhile ago too. -BR is simply a part number that corresponds with a refurbished card. It's not a new revision.
