That looks promising.  I'd have quickly jumped in on the "Quick Trigger" option but they are all sold out.  Once I start hitting the $100 and above mark I've got to take a wait and see approach.  Looking forward to your evaluation of the beta unit you receive in October so I'm subscribing to this thread.

Hmm,

The pitch seems a bit silly, seriously they take time to talk about "removing" the risk of potentially losing fingers to fan blades... /facepalm Who are they marketing this for?

And that thing is rather loud! 46.5db? Probably will remind people of the earlier stock coolers from AMD in their 4000+ series. (Jet engines anyone?) But I'll concede it has one of the most insane static pressures I've ever seen: 9.955 !? That's about 9 times the amount of most radiator grade fans. Did they mess up with a decimal somewhere? Anyway, it's about ~4 times the noise of standard fans in any case. But what can you expect from a 80mm fan running at 4500RPM?

The overclocking benchmarks are a bit lackluster in details. No proper details on radiator size, thickness, just the mention that it uses one (?) 120mm fan. (Shit oem WC if that's the case) And regardless, the benchmarks for this jet turbine and the lame oem WC seem to go neck and neck, with a slight advantage to the Hex. Is it worth all that noise?

And this is me being a finicky bastard, but why are there still components using molex connectors? Can we just move to SATA already? :(

EDIT: AND WHAT? Just saw that they intend to sell this thing 139.99$ USD. That's ridiculous, might as well go for a H100 or whatever company you want to support. Come on, a heatsink like this priced at a higher MSRP than AIO WC solutions. Someone tell me why this is?

EDIT 2: Uhm, someone gone and messed up somehwere on that PR campaign and white paper. How on earth do you get a 4790 all the way to 4.5Ghz without core multiplier being unlocked? Sounds insane. And if they goofed up and forgot to mention it's a 4790k, then it's a pretty lackluster OC of 0.1Ghz. OMG /mindblown

I don't think the 80MM fan will be running at 4500RPM max unless it's under a vary heavy load,.. at start up it will ramp up to 4500 then automatically go to 1500, 2000 depending on load,.. the 80MM fan only pulls air across the hot side of the peltier type plate there calling "SilverCore" which is basically a peltier with a cold side and a hot side,.. the hot side is cooled with heatsink and 80MM fan,..   https://phononic.com/transformative-solid-state-technology/

The cooler is best used in an ITX build or SFF compact device,.. with good air flow keeping fan speeds down.

In order to get the temps listed in their "benchmarks" the fan is surely running at max speed. Which is loud.

If this were aimed at small builds, or media PCs, I find the pricing pretty high. They are selling it at a price point that rivals enthusiast grade AIO solutions. Which surely have much better performance than this does. Ultimately they are marketing this thing as being made for high performance hardware/components. And I'm afraid that if they ever do provide more substantial bechmarks, it'll show that it's not that great. I mean they show a NH D15 and a sort of cooler master dual 120mm radiator in their promo video, but the white paper seems to indicate that they weren't used in their tests... And seriously I can't rant enough how much that white paper is lackluster in details. Even the crappiest site that writes round ups or benchmark articles does a better job than their white paper does.

In any case, I'm glad we'll have someone who knows what they are doing handling it and providing us actual numbers. :)

I seem to remember that cooler master tried out a peltier cooler on the v10... I can't speak for it but I did not hear anything good about it. However if it can handle an oc 2011 with only an 80mm fan then they are doing something right.

I'm curious what its cooling capacity is.

I will be ready for testing the coolers soon as they arrive,..

bought the i5-6600K & EVGA Z170 Stinger  in Denver today,..  :P

haven't decided on a chassis yet so I'm open for suggestions,.. trying to go as small as possible but still have option to run a graphics card down the road, going to use the integrated graphics for awhile.

After seeing Boinker's rig, don't know for you, but the next rig i'm building is in one of those sexy X9 Core.
