Rockstar Reportedly Mapping the Entire U.S. for Grand Theft Auto VI

Grand Theft Auto V may finally be available on all the systems it was originally meant for, but now it looks like Rockstar is looking ahead to the next entry. Grand Theft Auto VI is reportedly already in development, and while details are scarce, as expected, one thing stands out. Apparently, Rockstar is mapping the entirety of the U.S. for Grand Theft Auto VI, which would make for one massive adventure. Los Santos and Blaine County in GTA V is already huge, but if we get to explore a whole country in GTA VI, well, Rockstar could contend for one of the largest game worlds ever, depending on how it plays out. Ubisoft's The Crew also has the U.S. in it, but a heavily condensed version that you can zip from coast to coast in about 90 minutes. There's a lot of boring bits in between when you're driving across the country, and those long stretches of tedium would not translate well into a game. Odds are that if Rockstar includes the whole U.S. in GTA VI, it will be condensed just like in The Crew.

Remember, this is all just a rumor, albeit an interesting one, and we probably won't see Grand Theft Auto VI until 2020 if the studio is undertaking a massive mapping procedure (or even if it just bumps up the game world to be twice as big as GTA V). For right now, we have GTA V and everything in its game world, which should serve us quite well for some time.
