The system that the PSU will run is : CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 MB : ASRock 870 EXTREME3 hdd : green caviar GPU: 5770 x 2 (CF) plus one cd burner Probably in the fututre there will be a little more, oh and we will try to unlock the 4 core plus overclock the 450. paulktreg Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I can't find any reviews so it's hard to give an informed opinion. Is that a 110V/230V selector switch I have seen on the back? If it is then it's a very old design without active power factor correction. I can't find what the total amperage is on the 12V rails, it says 30A on 12V1 and 22A on 12V2 but you can't just add them together, there will be a combined maximum wattage, do you know what it is? I imagine it's quite low? There are reports of a few failures on newegg but it may be OK, who knows, but I'd rather be safe than sorry! Cant go wrong with Corsair, XFX or Seasonic (actually both Corsair and XFX sell Seasonic PSUs which are quality stuff). Check out this thread for a list of other reliable PSUs with reviews: OCC Recommended Power Supply List Go with a recommended power supply from the website here. If you do go with something other then that make sure its not a generic dell replacement psu that costs around $1.00 to build in Taiwan. High performance computers do not get along with crappy PSU's. If it were me and from what i have heard I would go with PC power and cooling for the PSU.
