Torx Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 Guess what I'm gonna say? Dual MCW5000 and run them in parallel. That way, the heated water won't go into the second core. If you wanna go dual rads as well, run the in series. After the water is cooled from the first rad, the second will make sure its done well. That config will need a little more tubing (duh) so I recommend a really strong pump. Eheim 1250 or 1060 are really good. I got experamental and went to pet store to get a really kickass aquarium pump for a really cheap price.
plastered Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 Yeah, they sell waterblocks for AMD chips with clips. The waterblocks on my AMD system are from Danger Den. So far I'm pleased with the results. There are other blocks out there that are pretty good.
Torx Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 Swiftech's AMD clips are pretty good actually. Its even easier in install than the retail fan. Plus you don't have to worry about your screwdriver slipping (bad bad bad if that ever happens ).
FanATIc205 Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 yeah the swiftech blocks . thou you dont have to run it parallel if the flowrate is high enough since the water doesnt really get heated up maybe 3c raise after each block
LobbDogg Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 If I'm not mistaken you can try out PolarFLO to see if they have their block out yet that doesn't require holes to be drilled. www.polarflo.com
Torx Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 ^^Those are really crap shiny. They might even work without paste... I'd still use it of course.
FanATIc205 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 i think the only waterblocks that work on dual setups are the swifty's since there overall size is smaller than most blocks
Destiny007 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 One of the best rated waterblocks is the Slit Edge waterblock (not sure where to get it, just google it). Its about 45 bux a block. Also, i own the DD (Dangerden.com) Maze4 and with a room of 21*C and my 2500+ at 1.85V, i have 32* right now (not idle nore full load) and i get about 36* full load. D-tek (dtekcustoms.com) has the TC-4 which is also a great performer. If you want the best, go to d-tek and get the white water block. Runs about 65 bux but is rated #1 on heatsinks! Also, make sure to run in parallel VS series so both processors are equily cooled instead of one getting like 1-3* hotter because of the second processor is getting the heated water. Also, it will help flow rate. My suggestion is the slit edge if your under 50 a water block and if you can spend 65 a block, get the White water. Torx Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Maze4 are respectable blocks. I would still go with the diamond-pin design over tracks any day though. There's more surface contact plus the Swiftech flows a lot faster than just about any block out there. How many times do I have to say that WCs are best off with MCW5000 or MCW5002? fanATIc1205 >> I say parallel because on most borads the orientation of the socket make it so the block's connections don't face each other. You'd have to make a vig ugly loop around if were to go series. But yeah, you're right about them being fast enough for series.
