A lot of folks are contemplating the move to the Intel Core i7 processors which will require a new motherboard based on the X58 chipset. OCC checks out the MSI Eclipse SLI board - http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/msi_eclipse/

question for ccokeman: what GFX card setup did you use to test all the games and 3DMarks?

looks like, atleast for gaming, there is absolutely no reason to go i7, especially considering the cost is roughly twice as much...

That6s been known since the initial reviews. But with a better card performance scales pretty well.
