ccokeman Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I have a HAF_X and to keep from hitting the board I had to mount three fans under the lid. My Rad is only 30-35mm deep though. I have maybe 25mm more space before hitting the boards VRM heatsinks.
ggg6hfgb Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Wouldn't the Asus Sabertooth X79's VRM(MOSFET) be slightly below the radiator in height?Tae a look at this:http://koolance.com/image/cache/data/products/mb-asstx79_p2-700x700.jpg.Here,is a waterblock for the MOSFETs.Would it work with the radiator(enough space)?By the way,I would remove the top 200mm fan anyway. The thing that I want to do is keep the pull fans just below the mesh panel. Then the radiator and after that the push fans.I hope that the radiator is a little higher than the MOSFETs to allow me to use the MOSFET waterblock. So the total space required between the rad and the motherboard is 25+80mm=105mm as the pull fans are above the radiator mounting point plane but below the mesh panel. If this won't work should I get the Corsair 800D or even the 900D or any other case? Braegnok Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I would look at a CaseLabs MerlinSM8 your 360X80 push/pull may fit in top,.. if not then go with a with a pedestal and put them below chassis.
