SpikeSoprano Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 imo his heatsink is not mounted properly to the cpu, or if he put a backing plate on the mb it's not sitting right. Let's face it guys termal paste would not make a 20 to 30c jump in temp.

Pteroduck Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Well it turns out it WAS my thermal paste, seems that single pea sized dot wasnt efficient, it looked non-existant. So i fixed it now, its all smooth and all, THANKS MAN THIS IS A LIFE SAVER. Waco Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 4.6 will be quite hot but that does seem high.
Pteroduck Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 4.6 is just an extra 1ghz should i clock it down?
Waco Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 What temps do you get from running IntelBurnTest or Prime95? With an idle that high I can't imagine your load temps are all that great. You should try to stay under 70 C with the CPU fully loaded.
Pteroduck Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 it gradually climbs up from idle degrees. I'm planning to get an h100, but i dont know what case it will fit into
