Getting the most out of EXCEL 2010

I wonder if you can recommend the best pc setup that would maximize EXCEL 2010 performance….I understand this version of excel can utilize up to 1024 threads – meaning processors – so I guess the more CPUS the better…or less CPUs with higher speed? Than more with slower speed as the Xeon e5 series for example?
I wonder what your experience has been with multi-core calculations in this version of Excel? Or even in Excel 2013? There is so little information on the interment on the excel performance benchmarks. I hope you can share some of your experience in multi-threaded Excel calculations on your own computer?
Thanks!

If however you have such a spreadsheet and want to know how the performance is effect by the CPU thread count, and processor speed, send it to me and I will be happy to run some tests for you.

Why do you think an SSD would help Excel calculations?Generallt a descent I5 would be enough. To get better speed, SSD is compulsory.

My bad. I mean to say that having an SSD is helpful as it will reduce saving time, load time (which should come into play while working with long excel documents).

Just take a look at this: http://www.anandtech...duct/288?vs=287
A 2500K is eclipsed by the 2600K in the Excel benchmark - and the old real difference between the two CPUs is hyperthreading. More real cores would be even more beneficial. Granted, this is Excel 2007, but from what I've seen 2010 is far more threaded.
