  1. OK, I have just got this board back from DFI USA and it is doing the same exect thing it did before I sent it out..... the tech called and told me the board checked out OK and it was fine. I would like to know what tests are done to boards that come back on an RMA... this board is not fine, it still will not boot. I'm far from being happy with this product. Attn: CPU's, Vid-card, RAM and PSU all check out OK and work fine in another rig. I am sending this board back again, I want a working motherboard sent back to me..... after all that is what I paid for !!!!!! 2) DFI LanpartyUT nF4 SLI-DR Expert motherboards..... $440 2 day air shipping to DFI, USA with return freight through UPS..... $80 2 day air shipping to retailer for RA & next day return freight through UPS..... $80 I have spent over $600 for 2 non-working motherboards, what gives ??
  2. 1. What rev do you have? RAA0 2. Do you have a psu that keeps a fan running after shutdown? yes 3. What PSU? Enermax Noisetaker 600W part # EG701AX-VE(W) SFMA(24P) 4. Do you have the following issue? not sure yet, motherboard will not boot
  3. I was in contact with DFI's North American tech support today and I will be sending this board out to them, any questions I might of had as to the quality of DFI's customer service were put to rest today... for sure. Great customer service Thank you Oh... RGone, sorry if I came across like a "Richard-Cranium"
  4. I used 1 stick in each board, I'm sitting over both boards right now checking & re-checking all of my connections. I'm not even able to get to the splash screen, the CPU fan or the chipset fan is not coming on either. I have 2 bare boards sitting in front of me that contain only 1 512 stick of RAM, CPU, Vid Card and the PSU connection on them. It's the same problem I have been having all along.
  5. Hello, I bought a second nF4 Expert, an AMD Athlon64 3700+ and had them shipped to me UPS next day so I could get my new rig up and running. I seem to be having this same standby problem using both the Athlon and the Opteron, I have tested this new board the same way I test the first board with the Athlon in it too!! and still I'm stuck in standby. I have about $500 laid out on the 2 DFI nF4 Expert motherboards, I now would appreciate some kind of input from the DFI support guys as to what I should do from here please.
  6. Hello all, I have good news & bad news.... Good news: OK.. I have been able to boot my AMD Opteron 146 in another board, a Gigabyte K8 Triton series K8NS Ultra-939 motherboard with 1 512MB stick of OCZ PC-4800 Platium Ltd. Ed. Bad news: DFI can't boot, it has nothing to do with a Enermax Noisetaker PSU or an AMD Opteron 146 CPU and instead of pointing the finger at a PSU or a CPU lets take a closer look at this motherboard. Angry_Games & RGone you don't have to reply to this thread, I know I'm using an Opteron 146 CPU and it's not supported.. but the buck must stop somewhere!! I think I might just RMA this motherboard now, after I wasted 2 full Saturdays and a Sunday on troubleshooting with the info fund here in these 2 threads: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...04&postcount=49 and here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...04&postcount=24 The funny thing here is the forum members were more of a help then this A+ product support team at DFI that I kept hearing about. Oh.... I almost forgot to tell you all this motherboard did the same thing with my friends AMD 4400 Dual core that worked flawless in his ASUS board.
  7. I'm going to try one last round to get this to post by using one stick of RAM in each DIMM slot, if it doesn't post after that it goes back.
  8. I think it would be a good idea to consolidate any and all problems similar to this one with the LanpartyUT nF4 SLI-DR Expert motherboard in this thread...... or create another sub-forum for this motherboard please. Motherboard: LanpartyUT nF4 SLI-DR Expert nF4 Expert problem: Stuck in standby, unable to boot. Symptoms: When the PSU power is turned on the 4 diagnostic LEDs flick on then off almost instantly, the led for standby comes on and stays on, the LED for the DRAM power sometimes comes on then instantly goes off while other times it might remain on (this happens mostly with 1 RAM module in DIMM slot-2), the screens on the HDD EZ-Swap units fick on then off almost instantly, no fans except the PSU fans come on and during the entire time there is no signal to the monitor. Troubleshooting: -I used 4 RAM modules in DIMM-1/2/3/4, I used 2 RAM modules in DIMM-1/3, I used 2 RAM modules in DIMM-2/4, I used 1 RAM module in DIMM-1/2/3/4. -The video card was removed then carefully reinstalled to make sure that the connection between the motherboard & video card was good. -I checked the floppy & motherboard connections, power & data were good. -I checked the optic device & motherboard connections, power & data were good. -I checked the HDD & motherboard connections, power & data were good. -I followed the directions posted on this forum for clearing CMOS, I did the 30sec. clear, 15 min clear, 6 hour clear, 48 hour clear and my motherboard has now been sitting in CMOS clear for over 24 hours and will continue to sit until Saturday when I start to finish my last round of troubleshooting before I RMA. -The ambient air temperature during my boot attempt, troubleshooting was no lower than 68*F. and no higher than 74*F. PSU output has been tested using a Fluke meter type 87. Results: Stuck in standby, unable to boot. I would like to know what RAM, HDD, Vid-card, CPU and PSU DFI used to boot their LanpartyUT nF4 SLI-DR Expert motherboard please ? I would also like to know if DFI has a plan to remedy this "standby/unable to boot" problem that seems to be growing by the day. Thank you
  9. Does that also apply to Enermax Noisetaker 600W PSU ?
  10. OK... one last try, anyone ?? Angry_Games what should I do from here ? I'm almost at the rma point.
  11. I'm having this problem inside the case and outside of the case.
  12. Hello all, I have just tested the PSU in another PC, it's working fine. I will be working on this all day to try and get it going. Thank you for all of your help.
  13. The amber LED lit for a second then went out when I used all 4 DIMM slots, DIMM slots 1 & 3, DIMM slot 1, DIMM slot 2, DIMM slot 3 and DIMM slot 4. The only time the LED stayed on was when I had modules in DIMM slots 2 & 4. As far as using another Power Supply the other unit I have is a 350W unit with only a 20-pin ATX connector, 4-pin 12V on it. I do have a GIGABYTE K8NS Ultra-939 Motherboard I could try. Hey..... is your username: hmf, as in the 4-stroke pipes for quads ?
