GuruHardware Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Why no? It would sell i mean dfi should have released it, i would have bought it. But hwy didnt they? Fugger did 7.2ghz in bios with no mods on this board, and i got a friend with one he just got it and is going to do 7ghz stable ona 3-stage cascade. Why dotn they release it? Angry_Games Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 because Intel boards are being outsold by AMD boards at almost a 100:1 ratio these days. It isn't worth the money to invest in making thousands of these boards when they won't even sell. keep in mind less than 1/2 of 1% of users (probably less) have a triple cascade phase change unit that is capable of bringing a cpu/board to 7Ghz
red930 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 As Angry stated, the much greater majority of DFI boards being sold are AMD based. Unless Intel creates a product (CPU/chipset) that out-performs AMD, and is power efficient (unlike their current lineup), then AMD will remain as the top seller in many markets, except for mission critical. Though I will say, they are gaining ground in that huge marketplace with solid platform designs from 3rd parties, such as nVidia. Sneaky Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 so i assume that any plans for a 955x board have been scrapped as well?
