Void Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I decided to try 2500 after a day or so of perfect stability. Had to up the voltage to 1.425 + 104%. It's working fine. Stock cooling, etc... as mentioned above. Got a 4777 in 3dmark2005 a min ago. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1034035
Void Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Crap power supply and crap ram! As suggested by you guys. And still using stock cooling. 10 hours prime stable and 4806 on 3dmark05.
Void Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Just because I thought it would be interesting to note... I've been using this same system for over 2 years now. Bout 6 months ago I dropped an x2 3800 in it and instantly overclocked it to 2500mhz. I've also now got 3 gigs of ocz ram in it and installed vista next to my xp sp2. Oh and I've got an evga 8800 gts in it now too. Anyways, that aspire power supply is still kicking and never once has given me a problem. As well as the awesome dfi lanparty mobo. So, how's that for a case study
red930 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 You are lucky, when they fail they often take mobo/video with them. BAD BRAND! :shake: Yeah they do! How's that for learning the hard way (bye bye $500 cpu). Best of luck to you.

You seem to have missed the fact that the original post was well over two years ago,and my most recent post was only to cite my success with the supposedly terrible power supply. However now I must knock on wood as I've probably doomed my pc to inevitible failure for stating this. Although I am sorry for your loss. Ahh and of course my cpu was only $80 Not that I want it to blow up!
