Sharp Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Hello, Have you plugged all 4 power connectors into the board? Floppy one under the cpu socket Hard drive one on top the chipset cooler? Can you clear the CMOS using the jumper, - Remove the power cord - Put the jumper in the claer position, leave it there few 10mins - Then put the jumper back to the save position - power the PC. - Enter the BIOS - set the memory voltage to 2.8v - save and exit Reinstall windows, what happens? texicanfirstgen Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I had a similar issue. But if i left only one stick on ram in, it would be fine. I flashed to a bios version 7 something and that seemed to fix everything. BUT NOW I can't get into safe mode. This sucks, but atleat I can use my system still looking for solution to this problem... think it was the bios version i flashed to. scott9219 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 i have neither the firewall nor the ide drivers installed. i have nothing in the package of drivers with the chipset drivers installed so i can avoid the problem. what will this do, as in will i lose the capability to burn dvd's or anything? i'll try the bios option. thanks

SADtherobot Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 what will this do, as in will i lose the capability to burn dvd's or anything? You won't lose the ability to burn DVDs by not installing the PATA/SATA drivers, you'll just lose hard drive features (control over read and write caching, as well as TCQ/NCQ if your drive supported it, but it does not seem to) and performance. kryptonite514 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I'm having this same exact problem. I've noticed that they only people with 623 BIOS have SATA drives. I don't think IDE works with that BIOS. When I flash 623, restart, properly clear the CMOS and reset optimized defaults It will not boot from my windows install on my ata hard drive and I also cannot boot into windows set up from my windows xp pro cd. Can anyone else confirm this issue?
