HoUnD Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Sup guys, I have been O/Cing this rig for about 4-5 days now and I have hit a roadblock that it seems nothing I do gets past it. This is what I have run: 11x260 2860hz @ 2.5-4-3-7 130 123% Stable 12x240 2880hz @ 2-3-3-7 130 123% Stable 10x288 2880hz @ 2.5-4-3-7 130 123% Stable Im currently running the 10x288 because it gives me the best numbers on all tests including memory. It runs at 7685 sissandra mem bandwith and 37.7ns in everest. My RAM is stable at 2.5-4-3-7 up to 300HTT. Seems there is a dead spot on my RAM that it DEMANDS the 4 trcd at anything above 240 FSB. So i dropped the multi and got the most out of my RAM at this timing. Thats not the problem The problem is I cannot get to 2.9 with any setting i have tried. 20 more freaking HZ lol. I have increased the voltage all the way up to 1.65 and it will not hit. I get errors in OCCT. Is there anything anyone has been able to do on these San Diego 4000+ to hit 2900hz stable? I have isolated both my RAM and CPU and the CPU is the bottleneck to get there. Maybe I have just reached the max on this Sandy. Man i felt like it would do 2.9 = These are my RAM settings not that i could see anything to change since ,y RAM will hit 300HTT Genie BIOS Settings: FSB Bus Frequency - 288 LDT/FSB Frequency Ration - Auto CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - 10.0 PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz CPU VID StartUp Value - 1.5v CPU VID Control - 1.30 CPU VID Special Control - Avove VID * 123% LDT Voltage Control - 1.30v Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.70v DRAM Voltage Control - 2.8v DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set - 200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01) CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 2.5 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 04 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 07 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 03 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 07 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 16 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 03 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 03 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 4708 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - Auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 7 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 2 Max Async Latency - 7.0ns Read Preamble Time - Auto IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(8 Bursts)

HoUnD Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 In everest it say Stepping - SH-E4 Revision - 00020F71H Where did you get the numbers you got for your stepping? Maybe Im lookin in the wrong place =)
Angry_Games Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 heh you have to look on top of the cpu when you are installing it (the red underline is the date code, the numbers/letters before it are the stepping codes, ABBGD is the stepping on this cpu, 2004, 36th week) http://www.angrygames.com/AMD_CPU/AMD_64/AMD_64.htm
HoUnD Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Guess we will never know lol. Hey Angry see anything I could do different or do you think I have reached the max CPU as I believe I have?
Angry_Games Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 2880Mhz is where my 4000+ San Diego is every day about 18-20 hours per day
HoUnD Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Ahhhh 2880 is the magic number =) I can play games at 2900+ but prime is a no go.
Angry_Games Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Ahhhh 2880 is the magic number =) I can play games at 2900+ but prime is a no go. ive not tried to go higher since i put it on water and made it my everday work/game rig it was 2880 on air and i bet i could pull 2950 on water (since i could 4h prime95 @ 2950 on air)

Fack it.. 2880 it is (until I figure it out lol)
custom_coms Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Sounds like the usual amd64 "wall"to me. Heck, my winnie won't go over 2.35 and I'm afraid to pump 1.7+v into it (been to 1.65, my comfortable limit on air).
