arcane613 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 No problem.....but I Need help now.... Vcore settings are all acting weird? 1.55 + 0.2v is 1.75 right? Speedfan says : 1.58 Vcore1 1.63 Vcore2 Bios says 1.58.....WHAT THE?!?! (FX-55) my board is here...after work i will build and post... and help with whatever. Guest Tim Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Thanks alot  This is even weirder.... I select 1.50 + 0.2 in bios and now it shows the correct voltage on Vcore 2 in Speedfan....1.73 which it should around. Bios shows 1.52 and Vcore 1 shows 1.52 (is there a difference btw, between Vcore 1 and 2, is Vcore 1 the startup setting (1.55 in my case? )
red930 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Save the money and keep what you have running. You won't see a dramatic jump in performance between the two CPUs. Hi Guys: I have a quick question. If I just ordered a new DFI LanParty NF3 250GB that comes today (from over the weekend before I knew about this one) and I have a 3400+ Clawhammer 754, would it be worth it to buy this motherboard and a 3500+ Clawhammer 939 or would I only see minimal performance increase? I think what I am going to do is just order the motherboard and when the higher cpus come down in price then upgrade. What do you think? MWAVE still has them as of 5 minutes ago. Thankz, Take Carez and Laterz,
red930 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Don't dismiss the Clawhammer core! Especially when you consider the price premium for the Venice and San Diego cores. I'm running a Clawhammer/Hammer core in Aileen and it simply screams. 240X11 at stock voltages. Clawhammer is getting a bit old..get a SanDiego or Venice, 939 is worth it
Guest Tim Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 All nice..but I still have a bigass problem here.... 1.50 + 0.2 should be 1.7 right? I guess not... Check the screenshot....
OldGuy Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 All nice..but I still have a bigass problem here.... 1.50 + 0.2 should be 1.7 right? I guess not... Check the screenshot.... It's .02 hence the 1.
Guest Tim Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 It's .02 hence the 1.52 Really? wow....gotta try that....(hope we are not wrong here ) Edit: there is no way that is possible....max Vcore 1.62 on a DFI? 1.550 + 0.07 = 1.62 or 1.550 + 0.7 = 2.
OldGuy Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Really? wow....gotta try that....(hope we are not wrong here ) Don't sweat it....I just woke up and the one who is probably wrong
jeremywills Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 good info so far, i agree with roady, keep it coming, your making this deciscion to hold off jsut a bit that much rougher
Guest Tim Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Don't sweat it....I just woke up and the one who is probably wrong *ahem, I think you are right....CPUz says 1.57v (1.50v + 0.3v) Weirdness  Edit: No it's not!! what the? 1.550 + (the 0.X are the settings in bios) 0.1v = 1.47v 0.2v = 1.56v 0.3v = 1.61v 0.4v = 1.72 Doesn't makes sense to me!
darkisz Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Really? wow....gotta try that....(hope we are not wrong here ) Edit: there is no way that is possible....max Vcore 1.62 on a DFI? 1.550 + 0.07 = 1.62 or 1.550 + 0.7 = 2.25 That's what was bugging me yesterday. 1.62 seems low for max vcore on a dfi board, but 2.25 seems too high. Maybe the CPU Voltage Adjust is a percentage of the initial CPU VID Control? That's how the bios works on my Neo2, anyway... Like: 1.50 * 1.02 = 1.53 Or: 1.50 * 1.03 = 1.545 If that's the case, max voltage should be: 1.55 * 1.07 = 1.6585 Of course, that's all PURE SPECULATION :tooth: I'll know soon enough, my board is on the Fedex truck commin to my place  EDIT: Just saw the latest numbers you put up, Tim, There goes my theory! However, it's great to see the vcore over 1.7. My neo2 maxes at 1.62.
Guest Tim Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 [Edit: oh no, already posted in this forum D'oh, check my post above on voltages AND It's not limited to 0.4 overvid...because we still have 0.7 (didn't use it because otherwise FX-55 --> )
