The Smith Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Hi everyone, I have overclocked my E6750 from 2,66 Ghz to 3,0 Ghz. When I run OCCT, the temps of my cores goes up to 60C, which is OK, but there is another Temp indicated by SpeedFan which raises to approximately 53C. The problem is that I don't know from where it comes ! When I go into configurations, it says that it is the chip IT8718F. I guess it's a chip on my MoBo Gigabyte p35-ds3r, but I don't know where it is located, if it is dangerous and if it is accurate. Temps 1 and 3 also belong to that chip , but they stay @ 35C and -2C, respectively. But why -2C ? the Temp of chip LM75, Intel SBus also stays at 0C. Thanks, The Smith
werty316 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 (edited) Speedfan is probably getting the wrong readings hence the -2C temp reading. I would just use the free version of Everest instead along with CoreTemp. 53 Edited February 16, 2008 by werty316
The Smith Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 But is the chipset temperature dangerous ? To where can it raise safely ?

The Smith Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 (edited) Well that's weird, it doesn't raises anymore when testing ! Both Everest and Speed Fan write 30C ! Why does it became hot only the first time ? Edited February 16, 2008 by The Smith
