cheesewiz6 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I am changing boards from an nforce 4 with nvidia raid to a nforce 680i with nvidia raid. I have read that if the raid controlers are the same you can do this without a reformat. Has anyone made this swap successfully? cchalogamer Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 You can move RAID arrays up tot he 680i form NF4 with no problem I'm happy to report, however you do need to uninstall your old chipset drivers first. (Though it will actually boot into windows just fine with NF4 SLI drivers I just did a ASUS 939 SLI board/FX-55/1GB DDR to evga 680i/E6300/2GB DDR2 swap out and tried bootign with the untouched OS for "fun" it worked but had a tendency to bluescreen on me while messing with the new chipset drivers that way) Not long after gettign my 680i I needed some files off a RAID array that was on the server while i had it apart for cleaning and just moved the drives over to the 680i to see what happened and it detected a happy healthy array just fine so you should be set.
