Biulding A New Computer

Recommended Posts

I'm building a new comp with a Athlon XP 2700+ and a Asus A7N8X mobo and a 9700pro

When i turn on the comp and it goes to the post screen it says my floppy test failed and I have a thlon XP 1500+ ?!?!

I tried to change the FSB to 166 and the multiplyer to 13, but when i save, restart, and go back to the post screen it says: "WARNING! CPU Have Over Speed!"

I tried to ignore that and Put in my XP bootable cd.... and before it started it said some file was corrupted. So i guess it's the cd...i'm getting another one.

But can somebody please give me some ideas on what to do as far as bios settings ?

Thx for your time!

The same thing happend to me with the floppy, just take it out for now, then replace it with a new one (that worked for me) also when i first booted the fsb was set to 100, so i just changed it to 133 and didnt touch the mulipliers and it worked.
