Mist Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Alright I have been looking to mod a lcd into a mini itx case. At first I was going to just use the tried but true psone screen however I really would like widescreen. Anyhow the screens used for carputers are too expensive and I am not daring enough to buy the individual pieces to put a screen together so I have been looking at different screens for consoles. So far I am leaning toward the madcatz because of its size and the fact that it already has s-video. MadCatz Clicky Pelican also makes a screen but its Screen resolution is only 480 x 234 and has no composite video. Anyone have any thoughts as to whether I should go with madcatz or not? The big reason people use the PSOne screens is because you can wire up a vga connector to it and run it straight from the vga out on any video card with perfect clarity. Even running s-vid will blur the picture. Hell, even component is blurry compared to vga. hardnrg Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 yup... an NTSC PSOne screen is 640x480 and they're discontinued afaik... the PAL version is 720x576... i believe you can get these 800x480 screens on ebay... maybe if you get a regular one instead of a touch-screen version and it's been like imported from asia or w/e then it might be cheaper...
