Which Drivers Do I Need To Download?

hey guys,

 

I just bought a Gainward 7800GTX golden sample (although its named something else - cant remember what). Anyway i have been HERE to the Nvidia drivers page, but i am unsure of what to download. The best way to explain is to show the hierarchy, like it is on the site. So i have already downloaded this:

 

Graphics driver - Geforce and TNT2 - Windows XP

 

i guess thats the correct and most upto date driver then?

 

BUT....... then i saw all the other things, like Platform / nForce drivers. I have an ASUS P5ND2 deluxe (which has nForce 4 for Intel). So i guess i need to dowload this:

 

Platform / nForce drivers - nForoce 4 Intel - windows xp .........correct?

 

What about nTune, and the nForce audio drivers - do i also need these?

Do i need any of the other products ?

Both of those drivers would be correct for your hardware.

 

nTune is overclocking and all, nothing too special, I use it to change my ram timings. The nForce audio drivers you don't need unless you're using onboard sound. I believe that both of those come with the nForce 4 drivers though.

i suggest you never use nTune it can screw up your computer like some other people who temps got way overboard and almost blew. use a 3rd party OC program, atleast not an autoOCer

Hmm, nTune causes problems? I used to use it a lot too monitor stuff and too mess with ram...but otherwise clockgen is the best for "In Windows" overclocking

I use the Abit Uguru feature. It works like a dream and it comes with 3 overclocking presets as well as a fan speed function.

may i reccomend CoolBits for a overclocking registry entry(allows you to mod core and ram speeds from the nvidia menu in display). i have found it to be the easiest one to use currently.

 

and as for your drivers you got the right one for just video, you didnt need the nForce ones unless you have a nforce motherboard (and thats only if you wanted to updates the boards' drivers. and as for the rest... bah no real need
