Can't Use Internet And Programs Sluggish At Start

Whenever I start up my computer, my computer is sluggish and won't open web pages for about 40 minutes. I can connect to XFire, connect to Steam, but I can't use web browsers and can't download anything. Programs act all sluggish for some reason. No spyware, recently defragged, no viruses.

check out msconfig and turn off most startup crap u don't use.

I've done that, but I didn't disable much because I don't know what half that stuff is.

Holy smokes, why have all that stuff run on startup? Most of that stuff is not really needed. Its easier to tell what some of the stuff is if you can see the path where the file resides. Handy if you don't know what the file is, you can generally get a good idea by looking at the path.

No wonder you are having problems with slowness at startup. I only have like 4 programs starting up in mine. I would recommend you go and uncheck everything in that list and then go back through and recheck only the things you know you have to have startup.

yea, a good point here that is if you reconigze a file path or its something u use, keep it on, but if u got no idea what it is, use google.

if it looks important and u don't recongize file path keep it.
