thepunisher001 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 i was ocing my athlon 3000+ barton and got it to 220 mhz and ram timing of 6 3 2 2 and it ran stable. Raised the ram voltage to 2.9v and the cpu voltage to 1.7. this was working great for the 1-2 days i had it on this setting (case temp was 43 degrees c and cpu was 58-60 degrees c) until about 10 mins ago the blue screen of death popped up and i had to reset the cmos battery and do it all over again. Does anyone know if this will happen again and what i did wrong to make it do this? (btw multiplier is at 10.5)

DECwakeboarder Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 That's not a bad OC, I'd say loosen the ram timings up some. What kind of cooler do you have on it? 60C is kinda high even for a Barton.
thepunisher001 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 i have a thermaltake volcano 11 with AS5 but i raised the voltage thats why its so hot, i know its kinda hot but it gives better oc capabilites and i dont think the rams the problem cause ive had settings like that for awhile
BionicSniper Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 bump down the ram timings and leave the cpu voltage at 1.7 or 1.75v ( the mobos usually under volt it .05v's) i got up to 2.3ghz on my locked 2500+ so you should be able to get there take the ram to 8-3-3-3 or 8-4-4-
thepunisher001 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 whyyyy my precious ram ... lol is it really worth bumping it another .1 ghz if i have to lower my ram timings... right now i have it running at 2.6 ghz and 6 3 3 2 ram settings and its been working perfect
