The plain old 6800 is not that powerful if you look at the specs:

Powered by GeForce 6800 GPU (NV40)

Superscalar 12-pipe GPU Architecture

0.13 Micron Process Technology

High-Speed 256-bit DDR Memory Interface with Advanced Memory Control

Core clock speed of 325 MHz

Memory clock speed of 700 MHz

Available in 128 and 256mb models

Full-Speed 32-Bit Color Precision

AGP 8X interface

The 6600GT

DirectX support: DirectX 9.0c (SM 3.0)

Pixel pipelines: 8

Vertex shaders: 3

Manufacturing process: 110 nanometer

Transistors: 146 million

Core clock speed: 500MHz

Memory clock speed: 900MHz (DDR)

Memory expansion: 128/256 MB

Memory technology: GDDR3

Memory buswidth: 128 bit

Look at the GPU and Memory speed, send of all the X700Pro is so close to the 6600GT in some benchmarks that it could go either way, second of all the X700XT beats the 6600Gt it almost every benchmark. Remember this is just a 6800 not a GT or Ultra

Does this mean that the 6600gt is.... faster than the 6800?? How can that be, wtf.

uhh .. .about the 6600gt being faster... NO!!! there are a ton of different things that make the 6800 better. for examples, more pipelines, faster memory, larger memory bandwidth, higher fill rate... and so on ...

Yes that is correct to a point but the clock speeds make up for alot of that don't forget :)
