Go into the mobo's BIOS, and increase the FSB a little.

Repeat as necessary.

When it becomes unstable, either lower the FSB or try increasing the vCore of the CPU..

Keep an eye on the temp, and don't let it get to hot. And don't go to high at once.

increase it in small steps. try if windows boots, and run a benchmark like pcmark2002 to see if it is stable, and what the improvements are. just the cpu test should be enough.

if you increase the vcore of fsb you get more heat. keep below 60C.

wou can check that in your bios of with motherboard monitor 5220 from the download setion of this site. cooler = more stable.

your cpu will burn at 90C.

check the overclocking 101 in the review setion of this page aswell.

it has everything in there.

good luck

my v-core will only go up till 1.85..

what the heck.

and my fsb is at 143mhz now. pushed it by 10mhz...

any further it's unstable..

multipliers 10.5

thats the default on my board.

to change them i need to use some dip switches on my mobo.

how do i know if my processor is unlocked?

some motherboards have a juper setting to protect the cpu from high voltages.

you should read the manual if you can get any higher. I would think so.

I also recommand increasing the fsb by steps of 3 of even less if possible.

It's like your system has to get adjusted to the new setting.

It won't take to high steps.

don't raise the multiplyer in 1 step. take the smallest steps possible.

that's more stable.

you are watching your temp right?? <_<

removing your side panel can take a lot of heat out.

this might be fun to see how high you can get and save the benchmark result so show off with.

remember, overclocking is in small steps, so it takes a lot of time

I spend 3 hours to get from 100mhz to 120mhz (on my last system)

later when you get more experiance you get faster.

I hope this helps.

good luck

so i assume u unlocked your's?

its an o/ced athlon xp too..

Like I said, you can only change the Multiplier if you unlock it first.

Yes, mine is an Overclocked Athlon XP as well... but I never said mine was unlocked.
