In the BIOS there should be an option to enable USB input devices. Make sure that is enabled.

I personally don't understand why they don't have this enabled from the factory. If there is a need to disable the feature, that's what the option is for. But why it comes disabled out of the box, I don't get.

USB keyboards come with PS/2 adapters. I usually keep them in a safe place in case I need it in the future. Try to find yours and attach it to see if that works. You could also try connecting an old ps/2 keyboard that's lying around as well.

From experience, the two ASUS brand motherboards I own don't have USB devices disabled by factory default. That's why I love ASUS. :D

Have you tried pressing "any" key during setup using the ps/2 adapter? If you can install os from here, windows will recognize your USB devices automatically when OS install is finished.

well, you should be able to install Windows XP or whatever operating system you are installing using the ps/2 adapter because that is the most common interface for mice and keyboards.

We know your keyboard works so that isn't the problem.
