Looking For A Power Supply Recommendation

Recommended Posts

So I just finished placing my order for my new system on Newegg, and now need to find a new power supply.

New system specs.

Gigabyte ga-k8nxp-sli http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-128-269&depa=1

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-103-502&depa=1

2 gigabyte 6600gt http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-125-156&depa=1

From my current system

Gig of dual channel Kingston pc 400

2 80 gig Maxtor drives

2 120 gig Maxtor drives.

NEC 12x dual layer DVD burner

Sony 52x cd burner.

My question is what will be the best power supply for the dual video cards.

If you have a suggestion please provide a link where I can find it

Thanks

For the $80 to $100 range you have a pretty good selection to choose from. Here are the ones I recommend from newegg.

Oh ya, when I mention Topower, they are the the actual manufacturer of the OCZ Powerstreams.

Athena 550watt PSU (re-badged Topower P6) for $84.50

Tagan 480watt PSU (another re-badged Topower P6, I own one myself) for $78.99

Fortron EPS12v 550watt PSU for $94.00 (note its a ATX v2.0 PSU, not v1.3)

Fortron 530 watt PSU for $78 (my backup PSU, possibly sell it to you?)

PCMCIS 550watt PSU for $80 (re-badged Topower P6 again)

Antec True Blue 480watt PSU for $90

I own the Gigabyte GA-K8nF-9 nforce4 mobo myself and a regular 20-pin PSU will work fine on it without any stability issues. If you are interested in the Fortron I mentioned above, here is a link for further details.
