Fan Controllers

So I've got 4 fans running full tilt, and I got this fan controller that can control two fans. So my proposal is to use a a splitter, so you can plug 2 fans into one 3 pin molex connector, effectively being able to control two fans with each knob. I feel that this should work, will it?

as long as the current that the fans draw isn't more than what the controller is rated for, than it should be fine

Or you could buy a fan controller with 4 knobs...they aren't that much money. But if you like the one you have now, it should work, check the ratings on the fan controller like exetrer said.

What fans and what controller are you using? You will need to make sure you stay under the rated current, otherwise you will fry the controller.

I'm using the Aerocool Coolpanel, and two, maybe 3 vantec stealth fans. The fans say 1.5 watts on them, and it says ( i think ) that the each thing is rated for 10 watts? If that sounds right.

It should be fine then. Even if you use three, its still less than 5 watts total. Each fan only draws about .1 amps and most decent controllers will provide up to about 1 amp (Aerocool didnt have any exact specifications that I saw, but if it is 10W it should work).
