Nerm Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Here at work we have a server with Windows 2003 Server installed and when it was setup it was setup as a Domain Controller. I need to switch it from a Domain Controller to just a regular File Server. Does anyone know how to do this without just formatting and reloading the system? DeMoN Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 (edited) it is an active DC or just one in a test environment? if it is active and has rolls on it the rest of the domain will crash. if it is just a test server then a dcpromo will take it back to a member server then you can take it up to a file server.
