finding new monitor got some questions :

ill break it down line by line

 

Panel Type: 1280 x 1024 pixels, Anti-glare polarizer, RGB vertical stripe

(i can pretty much guestimate this line and the next)

Recommended Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz

Pixel Pitch: 0.294 x 0.294 mm

help?)

Brightness: 250 cd/m2

(ditto?)

Contrast Ratio: 500 : 1

(lower the better or higher the better?)

Response Time: 12 ms

ok this is one a phillips on newegg for 438 not to bad a price i guess, although i might run a higher res, is that even possible, this still kinda big for me. any other sugguestions? i am a gamer but want flat! if i can budget it, might get dual.

ive seen flat panels with the same specs for much less i would try pricewatch or pricegrabber, shop aound and you'll end up with a better deal. as far as your tech questions:

-----bigger the brighter

Contrast Ratio: 500 : 1

-----higher is better

 

you can probably find a higher res around the same price (i think, someone else could probably tell you beeter on that part) but i think 1280x1024 is just fine until you start doing some crazy gaming
