Socket 423 Heatsink

I am replacing a Socket 423(Willamette) heatsink on my friends computer and I had a question reguarding compatibility. Can I use a socket 603(Xeon) heatsink that has the same type of mounting apparatus? According to this link the mentioned heatsink is compatibile with socket 423/603/604. I was thinking, as long as a socket 603 heatsink has the machined grooves on the opposite sides of the heatsink for the retention clips it should work on a socket 423 platform right? I was thinking of getting this heatsink for my friends computer. It does have the machined grooves on the opposite sides of the heatsink similar to the socket 423 heatsinks. I just wanted to confirm this before I purchase a new heatsink.
