Helping cousin upgrade to new gaming PC

Their current specs is:

CPU: 10600k

RAM: 16GB

Motherboard: MPG Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi

GPU: GTX 1080ti
PSU: Gamma II Series 750 Watt 80+ Gold

The games they mainly play are fps games that are heavily dependent on GPU/CPU.

They play at 1080p @ 144hz.

Their budget seems to be about $2,000.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I found that NewEgg's AI builder helper works pretty well if you're building to a price, it also saves time by checking component compatibility. Otherwise its mainly a matter of what you're looking for in terms of manufacturer (Intel/AMD or Nvidia/AMD). Eg if Raytracing matters then NVidia is the only choice here, etc
