zshift Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 I recently replace the fans on my GTX 1080 due to one of them burning out its bearings. When I did so, I also replaced the thermal paste and thermal pads, but I bought a set for a water cooler accidentally , and trashed the original thermal pads. Now my VRM or something else is heating up extremely fast. Does anyone know where I can get OEM sized thermal pads for this card (https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD#kf), or does anyone know the proper type and sizes of thermal pads I can use for proper cooling? ir_cow Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 If you can get all sorts of sizes of pads off amazon and newegg. Only so many choices, .5mm 1mm and 1.5mm. https://www.newegg.com/p/2S7-009N-00010?Description=thermal pads&cm_re=thermal_pads-_-2S7-009N-00010-_-Product I had the GTX 1070 version, same cooler and PCB. I believe it was 1mm. I had the same problem when I went to put my cooler back on after a waterblock. Its been over 4 years since I did it, so I really don't remember honestly.
