With the new year, Epic Games has decided to share some stats concerning the Epic Games Store, but the announcement the weekly free games program will continue through 2020 might be of more interest to some of you. Actually some of the stats concern this program that gave users the opportunity to claim at least one free game a week; there were 73 games given away as part of this program, valued at $1455 in total, and 200 million copies were claimed so it definitely appears to have been a successful program.

Turning to the larger Epic Games Store stats, it had 108 million PC customers that spent some $680 million on the store and $251 million spent on third-party games in the store. These numbers represent the actual customer spending, so the value of coupons and such are not included. For anyone curious though, there was over $23 million of coupons and discounts funded by Epic.

It seems like a good start for the Epic Games Store but the company has plans to continue its growth and work on helping developers. This help includes support for developer and publisher payment systems, integration for platform and store-independent online services, and working with developers for supporting cross-platform play with tools Epic created for Fortnite.
