Guest_Jim_* Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 In 1992 the movie Hard Boiled from John Woo released, and with its success his career got a push and he got his Hollywood debut the next year. With such success, it is natural for a sequel to be made featuring Hong Kong Police Inspector Yuen, nicknamed Tequila, but instead of being a movie, it would be a video game. Developers from Midway Company and Tiger Hill Entertainment, the video game company John Woo founded, worked on the next story for Tequila titled Stranglehold, which released in 2007. While it was well received, it also had stiff competition, going up against the likes of Halo 3 and with Midway's bankruptcy in 2009, the possibility for a sequel vanished. To make matters worse, the DRM used in the game does not support newer versions of Windows, but fortunately the cult-classic has a strong enough following to get something done about that. Today Stranglehold can be purchased from GOG, thanks to it and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and is DRM-free. Now new players can experience the gun ballet the game offers as Tequila wages his war against the criminal world, and it is priced at $9.99.
