Guest_Jim_* Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 If you are a Windows Insider, which gets you access to preview builds for the operating system, there is a new build on the Fast ring with some interesting new features. Among these is the addition of GPU temperature monitoring within Task Manager. This is only for discrete graphics cards currently and will requiring using drivers that support WDDM 2.4 or higher. It only reports in Celsius at the moment but is still going to be a nice addition to the software. A quality-of-life change is coming to Virtual Desktops as well, allowing you to name each one. Virtual Desktops can be used to collect together windows for different tasks on separate desktops and then swap between them as needed. The ability to give titles to these desktops should help keep track of the purpose for each one, and these names will survive reboots. Other changes include a new system for managing the installation of optional features, the mouse cursor speed being brought to Settings instead of requiring accessing the Control Panel, and bringing Notepad to the Microsoft Store, allowing it to be updated more easily. If these changes are so interesting you want to jump right in and try them, remember that going to an experimental build of any software can be dangerous.
