kurosen Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Hey guys, I have one of the unused servers I have at work Folding but according to Task Manager it is only using 50% of the CPU, it's a Pentium 4 and I don't think it has hyper threading (though I might be wrong). I would love for this thing to be running at full, any advice?
AYoKoNA Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 A P4 server? U sure it isn't a XEON? If not then for sure it is an HT , just for the fact that its running at 50%... Check the BIOS, that will tell you for sure... And just run two instances of folding in two separate folders..
kurosen Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 I tried running 2 instances in seperate folders and it does reach 99% usage, but both consoles work on the same unit... I'll check it again to see exactly what that CPU is and report back... EDIT: Well slap me silly it's a 3.06ghz Northwood with hyper threading (according to CPU-Z). How do I get this thing using the full potential?
AYoKoNA Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Go to the advanced settings when setting up the configuration of the console.. and choose a diff't machine ID for each console.. (Also use a -local tag in the target of the shortcut.
