Stardock today announced it is extending its partnership with AMD, something we saw help lead to Ashes of the Singularity being the first game with DirectX 12 support, and the first to support both it and the Vulkan API. With this extension, Stardock will bring optimizations to Star Control: Origins for AMD technologies, including its Ryzen CPUs and Radeon FreeSync 2. Star Control: Origins will also receive support for Vulkan in a post-launch update.

If you are interested in Star Control: Origins and going to PAX West this weekend, you will be able to find and play it there at booth #433 in the main Exhibition Hall. The game will release on September 20 and is available with a pre-order discount for $34.99 through Stardock, Steam, and GOG. If you are also looking to get a new graphics card, AMD is holding a >a href="https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game" target="_blank">Raise the Game promotion that will get you Star Control: Origins along with Strange Brigade and Assassin's Creed Odyssey when you purchase an RX 570, RX 580, RX Vega 56, or RX Vega 64.
