Battlefield V has the potential to be a great game. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things going on surrounding the game that might negatively impact the game’s sales. One problem for the game is that Patrick Söderlund is leaving EA; he was a prominent person in making Battlefield successful.

Financial analysts also warn that Battlefield V pre-orders are “weak” when compared with similar games, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or Red Dead Redemption 2. However, the pre-orders are doing better than previously failed games like Titanfall 2.

To combat these shortcomings from affecting a potentially awesome game, EA is launching some bonus content to pique the interest of gamers. This bonus content will include a free battle royale mode and a “Big Surprise.” We currently don’t have any information about this surprise.

Open beta starts on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on September 6, 2018. EA Access subscribers can start open beta September 4. The game goes live on October 19, 2018. Anyone who pre-orders the Deluxe Edition will be able to play on October 16. Origin Access Premier members will have access on October 11,2018.

So what do you think? Are you going to give the game a chance despite all the drama? Or are you setting your sights on CoD?
