F1 2018 releases later this week and so its final of four developer diaries has gone live, with this one covering improvements made to its visuals and audio. For improved graphics, a full heat haze and mirage system has been added, so you can see the heat rising from the track and from exhaust. The sky too has been improved, which is important as it can be a sizeable portion of the scene. For audio, the senior audio designer, Brad Porter, visit tracks and attached microphones to the cars to get better recordings while they race, but also ambisonic recordings from in the garages, the paddock, and the pit lane.

F1 2018 releases August 24 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
