When it comes to game trailers and pre-recorded videos, YouTube has always been the place to go. But gaming was never the focus for YouTube, and when it comes to live-streaming, Twitch has taken center stage. While it may be hard to dethrone Twitch, Google will sure try. This Summer, Google will be launching YouTube Gaming, a brand new app and website specifically catered to all things gaming.

More than 25,000 games will each have their own page on YouTube Gaming, providing "a single place for all the best videos and live streams about that title." Game publishers and YouTube creators will also have channels on the site, making keeping up with your favorite games and publishers easier than ever. In addition, searching for gaming videos will be easier than ever as well, as you'll only ever see game-related videos when searching from the new site and app.

To help knock Twitch off its pedestal, major changes will also be coming to how YouTube handles live-streaming. Live streams will be front and center on the YouTube Gaming homepage, and in the coming weeks, Google will be making several changes to improve the live experience on YouTube. "On top of existing features like high frame rate streaming at 60fps, DVR, and automatically converting your stream into a YouTube video, we’re redesigning our system so that you no longer need to schedule a live event ahead of time. We’re also creating single link you can share for all your streams."

YouTube Gaming will start in the US and UK this summer, but those attending E3 will be able to get a sneak peek of the new site and features at YouTube's E3 booth.
