zenixx Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Previously using Samsung SyncMaster 226BW. I'm looking to invest in a new monitor for mainly gaming and watching live streams. Willing to pay up to $800.- Size : 23~25"- Aspect Ratio : 16:9- Pixel Response : 2ms (grey-to-grey), 5ms (black-to-white) *any less the better- Resolution : 1920x1080 or 1920x1080- Refresh Rate : 60 / 120 / 144Hz- IPS / TN- Screen Texture : Matte- Headphone Jack *optionalCurrently considering ASUS VG248QE , EIZO FORIS FG2421 and Samsung S24B750VS. Would like some opinions on these three
panjang110 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 out of the three you mentioned i'll pick the eizo if you got the cash and enough gpu power to fully utilize it... if you got $800 to spend you should also look at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY1DK9756
zenixx Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the reply. I'm actually not too fond of anything bigger than 25" cause I don't wanna turn my head so much when I'm gaming ._. I'm running on a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. Is that enough for the EIZO monitor? Edited May 31, 2014 by zenixx
panjang110 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 better spend that $800 on a new system+gpu, 9800gt is around 5 years old so unless you want to play old games at 120hz it's better to upgrade your gpu first.
VaporX Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The Asus looks like the best of the choices you listed. Also check out the BenQ gaming series, they are getting pretty serious with their gaming monitors.
ClayMeow Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 That's a pretty nice budget for a monitor. I'd go with the ASUS and then get this, but honestly spending money on any monitor for a 9800GT is a complete waste of money.
zenixx Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yea..I'll prolly start saving up a bit more for a new system. It's just that my monitor died out on me as it just flashes black non-stop =/ but thanks for the advice you guys
