NikoDG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 So I was just browsing around and I came across this "fan controller." http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=30623 The key features of the Aquaero 5 include: · Programmable four channel fan controller · Graphic LC display with backlight (except LT) · USB 2.0 and Aquabus interface · Four fan outputs with current measurement · Versatile control options · Eight temperature sensor inputs · Flow sensor input · Universal IR receiver (except LT) · Output for IR transmitter · Three LED outputs · Potential-free switch · Two additional power outputs · Extensive alarm options · Acoustical alarm · Speed signal output for status evaluation · Expandable to a maximum of 10 fan channels In maximum configuration, the following devices can be connected to an Aquaero 5 simultaneously: Two Aquastream XT pumps Six Poweradjust 2 controllers One tubemeter Two multiswitches Now, I'm pretty new to this, but I think that's about as good as it gets, no? The thing basically takes all the temperature sensors you could possibly want, while also taking inputs from a flow meter, and tube meter. Then the four fan channels that is has to start with is enough to run 16 Gentle Typhoon 1,850 RPM fans (4 each). If it senses a leak (fluid level drop sensed by tube meter) it can even shut off your computer to prevent damage. Now I'm in the market for a fan controller (not so much for the fan part as the temperature and flow sensor part) for my Cosmos II build, what do you guys think? NikoDG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Yeah, it's definitely not cheap, lol. But it does have more features than you could throw a stick at It's definitely at the top of my list of future upgrades, followed by this flow sensor (since I don't have one yet): http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=32963 And then possibly this pump in serial (currently running a single non-adjustable Swiftech MCP-655): http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_201&products_id=28887
Tjj226_Angel Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It is totally useless. Chances are that you will be using a program to monitor temps which will be on your desktop. Lets face it, how many times in your life will you look at that monitor? Sure you might see it, but are you going to actually use the data from it? Probably not. Niko, with all the stuff you are water cooling and with the thousands of radiators you have by now, you can just assume the water temp is about ambient temperature. As for the fan controller, I would look for something that matches your case a bit better. Sycthe makes some affordable clean looking ones. I myself has the Kazi Master (probably spelled it wrong) and I think it looks very nice. Honestly though, the reoccurring theme I am seeing with your build is that you put too much money in fancy crap like this and not enough in the graphics cards. When you have 4 7970s in crossfire THEN you can start buying this crap. Until that point comes, try and push more power out of your PC rather than aesthetics. I don't want to come across as offensive, but I seriously think you are just wasting money at this point. I am not saying don't spend money on your pc, but rather to spend it on stuff that makes more sense.

I don't have 4x 7970's in CF because I'm getting 4x 680's in SLI obviously
NikoDG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It's heaps bigger than the others, and needs ac, so needs to be plugged into the wall, not your psu. It's only somewhat longer, not that much larger in other respects, and whaaaa? If I'm not mistaken the Aquaero 5 has two outputs for that pump so you can run it in serial. Muchoman1 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Oh, hehe How many 670/680's you gonna put in that desk of yours? well at the moment it looks like 3 670s or 2 680s, depending on what gives better performance. but there is always the option of adding more later on if that ends up being not enough power (and with the ports today, thats not happening anytime soon)
