However, I still am trying to get an idea of the price point that I will be spending to get a decent folding build. Right now, I'm looking at the following components to fold with. I have no idea how these components will measure up with PPD, but I'm looking at running them 24/7, so power consumption is something I'd like to keep relatively low if that is at all possible. Also, I plan on installing Ubuntu on this machine so I do not have to pay for an OS just to fold and I already have a hard drive that I can use as well. gebraset Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Was hoping for both. I fold 24/7 on a old AMD 5000+ so I figured that Celeron dual core would be ok enough for some decent PPD. gebraset Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I'm pretty sure that you can at this point, but even if not, I could always run Wine and install the V7 beta, allowing for both CPU and GPU.
