MandoPatriot Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Is this cause for concern? My computer sometimes BSOD's while loading up Windows. Before getting to the login screen it will BSOD and then restart into the CHKDSK program. After it runs, the computer restarts and all is fine. This happens occasionally. The image of CrystalDiskInfo is attached. I only run one HDD, didn't have any issues until a couple of weeks ago I want to say. Drive just going bad or something else? SpikeSoprano Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Hey Trap, just last week I worked on a laptop that was doing the exact same thing as yours, crystal disk info gave me the same errors, I tried to reload windows and it would freeze about half way done.I pulled the hd out and tested it on my machine and it would drop to 0 mb's on the read and write test about half way through. I was lucky and got his info off the drive before it died altogether. Hope you have better luck.
MandoPatriot Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Took your advice and sent the HDD back. Since it was my only drive I just reinstalled Windows onto my SSD and will use the returned HDD as a storage/games unit. Thanks!
