Deathmineral Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 So I had a IBM Model M keyboard given to me today, problem is that it's cord is missing. Now I'm not sure but from I understand there are PS2 Model M's and there are Terminal Model M's, what I have is the terminal kind. I'm just wondering if any of you mechanical keyboard gurus or anyone can help me figure out if it's possible to use one of these? As in, is there anyway to hook this up to a modern PC? bp9801 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Basically, the terminal models were designed only to be connected to IBM computers. You can get it to work on a modern PC, but you'll have to do a fair bit of work as outlined in this guide.
Deathmineral Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Seems like a bit more work than I want to put into this thing. Thanks anyway though.
bp9801 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Yeah, I agree, it is a lot of work to make it work on a modern PC. It'd be worth it, I think, but you could always get a modern mechanical keyboard that will work just the same.
