TCcomputers29 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) hi everyone, i was just wondering did you have to have the same memory brands ie: 4gb of OCZ CL-8-8-8-24 1600mhz ram 2gbx2 and 4gb geil 1333mhz CL-9-9-9-24 4gbx1 is it possible to place these ram brands together without problems, does it matter to have different CL timmings and MHz clocks? PLEASE HELP! thank you sorry everyone i made a second one by pressing the button 2 times...LOL? SORRY Edited June 3, 2011 by TCcomputers29
danieljury3 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I don't know much about RAM but I think what happens is that it all gets set to the speed of the slowest RAM.

Nyt Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Yes you can. You can set them to both be 1333mhz on 9-9-9-24 timings or you can try your luck and oc them to both 1600mhz with 8-8-8-24 timings But you cannot have one at 1333mhz and the other at 1600mhz P.S : I deleted your other topic

Nyt Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 do i have to set them or do they automatically set them selves and if so how? and by the way nice pic They do set themselves to the mobo's auto setting which is usually 1333mhz and it normally has set timings for 1333mhz But you can do it the manual way ... You can go to the oc'ing menu of the mobo , go to DRAM frequency , set to your prefered frequency , then set the DRAM timings and save Both should be able to do 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 timings . And thanks for the compliments on the sig
